A Point of View Gallery is the brainchild of photographer Rolf
Schulte. Rolf bought a run-down house, and with materials he salvaged
from other buildings, he created the gallery space. About 85% of the
materials used were recycled.
Rolf had always dreamed of a space in which to show his work and
that of other artists. The art scene in Lake Placid slowly receded
after the 1980 Olympics but now is starting to grow again. A Point of
View Gallery wants to be part of that process. Besides photographs
and paintings, the gallery shows other works, such as pottery,
jewelry, and furniture. We focus on local artists and landscape but
also show some abstract art. We will show whatever and whoever
catches our interest.
The gallery has a printshop that prints wide format prints on a
variety of papers and canvas. We restore old photographs. Starting in
2009, we will do picture framing.
